So I bought this pressure cooker about 6 months ago to use as a forge pot. A few weeks ago I noticed a contamination in my brine when my silver turned pink. I've always been very careful and only used copper tongs, so I was a little discouraged and decided to change the solution. When I lifted the jug I was shocked to see that the heating element was rusty and there was quite a bit of liquid at the bottom. It was because of my iron poisoning! There's no way liquid can accidentally get in there as I never drop anything in it. I emptied it, changed the solution and dried the device while ordering a new one. I kept using it and got the same telltale signs of iron in brine. When I lifted the jug, there was liquid again at the bottom. I can only imagine that the pot itself is defective. I was looking for another model but this really is the perfect size and I need a device that works at low temperatures. I decided to order a second one and see if this one had the same issue under the same circumstances. If the pot is sealed properly, it should have no problem retaining liquid at all times. All of this is just useful information for the jeweler. For regular cooking use, I am confident that this pan will exceed expectations for its price. In the photo, my old and new pot are side by side.
