Bought to replace another hand mixer with a worn whisk that was chipping chrome. I am thrilled with this price and the features it has! Right off the bat, the stainless steel beaters are a BIG improvement - they aren't "coated" so won't wear or chip over time (leaving tiny flakes of metal in my food). The included whisk is very handy too - perfect for whipping cream, egg whites and making the 'final' cream pie filling. While my old hand mixer had two whisks, this one still works great despite only having ONE, and looks sturdy. Also, I immediately noticed that while the 1st speed is a little "faster" than some of the more expensive hand mixers, it's still not fast enough to make a "storm" out of flour or powdered sugar. This has been my #1 complaint with many other blenders in this price range, but this one isn't bad at all. Also, the cruise control seems pretty precise, and the "Turbo" button is useful too. The speed increases very "gradually" as you move the switch up (and in a subtle way), as opposed to "jumping" from one slower speed to another. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good inexpensive hand blender that still works well and doesn't leave a mess.
