I really wanted to enjoy these shoes and for the first few months I did. I've always had issues with my feet so I figured going barefoot would be a great way to strengthen them. While this may be true, these shoes are honestly low quality at a premium price. I had another pair before that lasted about 3 months but figured these (made SPECIALLY for hiking) could last for years. My daily usage is 1-2 hours max as I mainly use it to walk around during lunch (I got it for reference in early May). I've done maybe 1 or 2 easy hikes in it, but nothing crazy (all on dirt trails with minimal rocks). I noticed this week that I was getting a hole in one of my fingers and ended up with a nasty cut/blister even when using socks with these. I ended up taking my shoes off and just walking barefoot for the remaining 30 minutes. As this is my second pair of FFS I have noticed a trend towards low quality and expected MUCH more for the price. I envy people who say nice things because I really love the shoes and they make walking more comfortable. but if they really expect me to shell out $120 every 4 months then the people at vibram are crazy. I don't know of a higher quality alternative to be honest, but I would definitely recommend looking for a better brand. It's clear that they focus more on marketing than product quality, which I think is understandable and disappointing.
