Review on Compact and Portable Sony ICF-P36 AM/FM πŸ“» Radio - Sleek Black Design for On-The-Go Entertainment by Glenn Cho

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This radio costs twice as much!

Double the price. I have walkie-talkies four times more expensive, and the reception and selectivity of this sleepyhead is no worse, and sometimes even better than my best walkie-talkies. Hard to believe that such a small radio can perform so well on AM frequencies. AM reception is so good that it looks like the internal AM antenna is about a foot long. Tried fm, clear and good, but since I don't stop at fm doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it, I just don't use fm. Another benefit is that it sits horizontally so cannot tip over, unlike other standard pocket radios, with no protruding buttons or switches, they are all recessed. I live in Cleveland and can hear the AM-650 at night with little to no interference; This station is located in Nashville, Tennessee, 517 miles away. And if there's noise, it's not a creaking noise, but something soft and muffled against the background. The sound isn't tinny like most radios of this size, it's good. It can distinguish between a weak signal with no strong station and a weak one with a weak frequency. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, I could go on and on but I'll stop here. It's so good I might order a replacement.
