I originally gave this product 5 stars but changed it to 3 when it started making loud clanking noises about a month ago. I got fed up with the noise and took the wheel off to see what I could do. I thought about oiling it (although I was sure it wasn't the problem) but as soon as I took it out I noticed the wheel separated from the rear wheel. Five minutes, a screwdriver, and a bit of hand tightening later, all my problems seem to be solved. The hamster hasn't really used it yet, but when I twirled it around to test it, it just made the usual low noise. than the previous loud sound. I'll update this after listening to my hamster for a few nights. What I've done: (Probably all of these things have proper names, but I don't know them, sorry if that's confusing.) In less extreme cases, this may suffice; the difference was noticeable even after 2) I tightened all the visible screws (why not; I don't know how that would make a difference). 3) I removed the back yellow piece (it should come off easily) and holding the middle yellow piece in front, tighten the screw in back (it'll be pretty deep; use a long screwdriver) as tight as I could. After doing this last step a few times, the wheel stopped rattling. I recommend trying this on whatever you think you've done to your wheel - I don't know how what I could have done with it could have loosened the bolt. but that seems to have been the problem. I'm giving this 4 stars for the month I've had to live with the rattle but as it looks good now and it's a truly amazing and awesome bike I'll give it no less than that. I really wish I never had to mess with it considering how much it costs. Another complaint I have is how difficult it is to clean - I still haven't figured it out and although I wash and clean it the inside looks pretty rough. Note: I use this wheel for my (male, adult) Syrian hamster and I use it as a vertical wheel with a stand attached.
