That's what you think. I use this when rebuilding a rear shock on my '07 KLR650. I'm 240 pounds, hit rock bottom with luggage and busted my shock. I rebuilt the shock and installed an Eibach spring (#990530 for those looking to upgrade but don't want to buy a gun top spring). This worked great for my situation, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone keeping the stock spring as thicker oil will make your damping too high.
