Review on 🍎 Cuisipro Red Apple Corer - Optimized Size for Efficient Fruit Preparation by Jerrica Colbert

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Appears to be a quality unit but unfortunately it is NOT

If I had left my review shortly after purchasing this stoner (like most buyers do) I would appreciate a 5 star rating, how I actually liked this gadget in the beginning. It made the right hole - not too small, not too big, and I was able to take out the core with one easy movement, so I almost gave up my old OXO stoner that I used. But after about 3 months of regular use, the internal spring in the ram that held the metal parts together became very loose and the ram's storage position became PERMANENTLY OPEN LIGHTLY. Any joy in using it was gone immediately. Also, yesterday (after 3.5 months of use) one of the rivets popped out. So now I'm back to carving apples with my trusty ol' OXO machine that I bought a few years ago. Disappointing experience, I would not recommend buying the Cuisipro Apple Corer if you will be using it frequently. UPDATE: I have continued to use this core from time to time when I had to remove the core from an apple and my other core ended up in the dishwasher. So here's my update: The spring core broke completely and fell out - EVERYTHING RUSTY. It's definitely NOT stainless steel (which is very strange for a spring). And the rivet fell out again and was lost. It looks like this thing is falling apart after literally 4 months of use. An example of a good idea that failed due to poor implementation.
