This cooling pad has solved my hot laptop problem perfectly! I was using a sturdy laptop desk and my car was getting too hot (you should have seen everything I put under the laptop when trying to prop it up for ventilation). My laptop now sits on a cooling pad that sits on a sturdy laptop table that sits on my lap. I know it sounds bulky, but it works great (both the cooling pad and the table are super light, by the way). The cooling pad has leg extensions that make it slanted (but not too steep) and my laptop doesn't slide and actually stands at a better angle (I can even see the keyboard better). The fans are quiet; I know them but they don't bother me and the best part is that after an hour of driving my car doesn't even get hot! I'm so glad it works! [Note: There are 2 plastic "barriers" (flaps) on the front that you can lift up to prevent your car from sliding. I found this out by reading the enclosed brochure.
