While we hibernate here (Louisiana) during the summer, we love to get outside when it's not hot. We have two children and both are into exploration and nature. These are really good sandals for outdoor activities and hiking, as good as more expensive brands. The soles are pretty much perfect with great tread. You will definitely get the support you need. There are 2 adjustment points, one next to the buckle and the other at the top of the fingers. To tell the truth, I almost missed the one near the buckle and panicked, thinking that part wasn't going to take root. He dresses up very well!
