dynamically the microphones sound very good good. However, capacitors are not so-called "true" capacitors, and as such they suffer greatly. These are fairly typical rear electret capsules found in a cheap computer microphone with a preamp built into the microphone. Electrets don't have to be bad, but they're nothing special. There are other similar kits for the same price or less that come with "true" condenser mics. Note the "true" in quotes, since electrets are technically capacitors. They differ greatly in their design and ease of use. Of course, they work as overhead. But decent dynamics can give better results.
