I bought this for my grandson in class so I don't use it. The teacher liked it because it was quiet and safe. She said the kids are so excited about the new ELECTRIC sharpener and pencils! (They are in 1st grade) She also said that it is used a lot because several teachers from other grades ask to borrow it. For them it is considered a luxury.
