I would recommend a mallet
I put it together in about 15 minutes and it holds a whole rack of shirts and a pair of pants perfectly. I would recommend a soft mallet or a regular mallet and a piece of wood to gently pound the pieces together. I just bought a second one because I wanted to see the quality of this one before buying two. The only caveat is to follow the labels on the pouches containing the wands when opening the shipping carton. At first glance, it is easy to confuse the metal rods when assembling.
