They did a great job of keeping my son warm on a frosty Halloween night. He wore them under his suit on an outdoor scavenger hunt on a day when the weather was below 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) and windy. *I* was freezing, but he was fine. Later that evening, for a joke or a treat, he pulled them back under his suit so he didn't have to cover his suit with his coat; By this time the temperature had dropped to 30 degrees, but a pair of mittens was enough for him. The inside is lined with a very soft fleece material and the outside is semi-gloss. My son *loves* the softness of the fleece lining. I have since washed (cold) and tumble dried the set warm and it still looks brand new. My son is about 19 inches tall and weighs about 55 pounds. Both the pants and shirt fit very well, there was enough room to grow and they were still tight enough to keep him warm.
