Review on 🎧 Space Grey Bowers & Wilkins PX5 Wireless On-Ear Headphones with Noise Cancellation by Hayden Iskandar ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

Noise cancellation works, but does not cut off from the outside world. At the same time, speech and street sounds are heard, but the monotonous and buzzing noises are removed. As it turned out, a very necessary function to pause playback when removing the headphones. The main thing is not to actively chew while listening, the headphones perceive this as a β€œstop” signal. Whatever they say, physical buttons are better than touch controls. Voice prompts are not annoying. Connect to two devices at the same time. Looks good, relatively light. They sit quite tightly on the head, with a calm movement and inclination they do not slip. You don’t look like them for a long time, they don’t start much, but it’s unpleasant to press. It's uncomfortable to listen for more than 2 hours. Personally, I didn’t like the way the headphones look on the head: the bow stretches ugly and looks like an alien in a spacesuit, but this does not affect convenience. Suitable for small ears. The sound is clear, bright, detailed and even too even. In the usual tracks, new facets open up. At the same time, they are demanding on the sound source. They sound the same over the wire and without, from a phone, tablet and laptop. According to individual feelings, I lack involvement in the sound. It does not "exist" in the head, but is located at some distance from the ear - in the headphone speakers. This does not depend on the genre of music and the timbre of the sound, which is sad. Perhaps they should be warmed up, as audiophiles do, but in my opinion, this is useless. I was pleased with the sound of heavy music: instruments and vocals do not mix into a mess, the headphones do not tambourine and do not muffle the sound. The basses are not twisted, they are just enough. Not suitable for bass lovers. Instrumental and folk music also sounds good, only sometimes the high frequencies catch the ear unpleasantly. Low-frequency and overtone music sounds rather poor. Conclusion: for such money, I expected more from the sound, of course, but the functionality, frame material and brand smooth the impression a little. Headphones will suit undemanding people who love beautiful and expensive things.

Pros
  • Everything is true, what they say in the reviews: functionality, sound, appearance and fit.
Cons
  • Sound (below in the comment), materials (something like nylon and leatherette, too soft and looks short-lived), construction (overhead: you don’t look like them for a long time), do not fold and take up a lot of space.
