My 5 year old has room to grow. Most of the old long-sleeved navy blue pajamas are very tight at the top, and their 5T is good for leg growth. But these 5Ts give my son room to grow in his legs without the upper being skin tight. Yes, it should be comfortable because of the fire, but I often find that the tops are too tight for the size of the pants you are wearing. My son is slim and these pants are a bit loose but we tuck the shirt in and they stay ok. I haven't washed it yet, so I'm sure the strip will shrink a bit.
