Review on πŸ”₯ Bluetooth BBQ Thermometer with 4 Temperature Probes for Wireless Meat Monitoring during Grilling, Oven and Smoker Cooking by Beth Wagner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good multiprobe unit.

I don't need a meat thermometer to roast steaks. I know my grill and the cuts of meat we like, and I know that if you cook a steak for 7 minutes per side, you're done. I'm just moving on to BBQ and SLOW Cooking where it turns out the temperature is critical. So I took it. I also took a SMALL ceramic kamado smoker and used it in my first 10 hour pork shoulder cookout. That started my grilling obsession and I've already upgraded the grills. This unit comes with a MAIN unit that uses 2 AA batteries (supplied). - This block scrolls through 6 sensor slots. Six slots but only 4 probes. 1x ambient temperature sensor (can also be used as a meat sensor) or with a clip for attachment to the grill to measure the ambient temperature when grilling. As for the LITTLE Kamado, I just went into the top fan to take the temperature of the dome because the included thermometer was inaccurate and only read C and I didn't want to do the calculations on the fly. 3x sensor compliance. The photos show this scenario. Ambient was used to monitor the smoker's temperature and a sensor was used in the pork shoulder. It turned out amazing. The only complaints I have about this device are: 1) It's bluetooth only so you get bluetooth range. Luckily for that 10 hour smoke (starting at 7am) the smoker is outside my office about 25 feet from me. It still kept disconnecting and warning me multiple times. I really would have liked more range. However, it continues to work even if you lose connection to your phone or app. 2) The app is really pretty bad. It's pretty easy to use, but it's very basic. You can set alarm thresholds for areas like I did for smoking/ambient temperature. And when your food is ready, there is an alarm (maximum temperature). Both were very useful but annoying when connections were lost due to long cooking times. I couldn't use it for overnight cooking. He's not reaching my bedroom phone so it's not working. 2.1) The graphics in the app are basic and mostly terrible. It doesn't allow you to scroll or zoom and sits at around 260 degrees. Since I was running this cook at 275 I couldn't really graph the temperature of the smoker, only the temperature of the meat. For the money, however, this is good value. You can only set the preset temperature via the app. The device itself monitors and signals when you are out of range or when your cooking is finished. Good quality, but I've switched to a device that also supports Bluetooth and long-range Wi-Fi.
