Let me start by saying that the quality of this item is superb. Not only the item itself but also all the accessories are of very high quality, all combined in a very nice presentation. Its modification options are excellent. I started with rubber bands and now I like the metal clip. I may or may not switch back, but it's great to be able to. You can even make one on each side if you like. It even comes with a full set of tiny spare screws in case you lose them. Well, the stuff of this particular wallet might not be for everyone. This is real copper. It comes with a copper finish that will keep it shiny for a month before normal wear and tear from rubbing in your pocket will eventually wear it down. From now on it needs maintenance to keep it shiny just like any other copper or brass accessory you may own. Or you can do what I did and speed up the patina on purpose. I have a lot of brass and copper accessories and love the ritual of polishing and patinating them with my Dremel buffer wheel to make them beautiful and unique. The painting you see is an accelerated patina that I created on the material using a mixture of salt and vinegar. Eventually I'll probably get tired of it and break the buffer wheel on my Dremel to make it shine again. For me, it's all part of the appreciation and ritual of owning copper and brass objects. If you want something that will stay shiny without maintenance, I highly recommend buying and replacing the shell. The company produces many different options.
