Excellent hobby knife

This is a great craft and hobby knife. I make scale models of aircraft and armor and have tested just about every hobby knife on the market. This Fiskar is one of my two favorites. The die-cast metal body feels solid and heavy in the hand, not cheap and flimsy like many others. The mechanism that holds the blade is also made of die-cast metal with no rough edges. The orange rubber grip ensures a safe feeling even in sweaty hands. The blades are firmly fixed, do not hang out and do not play. This is especially useful for seam stripping, where you run the knife blade perpendicular to the molding line and scrape the plastic with the back of the blade. It is also worth mentioning that I only use scalpel blades for modeling, as they are much thinner. Many hobby knives are too narrow to hold a scalpel blade, but Fiskar works great with them. One thing I would like to see is an anti-roll feature. Another hobby knife I swear by is the Olfa Cushion Grip, which has a small, rectangular piece of plastic that protrudes from the back of the handle to keep the knife from rolling off the table. This is a great feature. All said and done, I love this knife. He checks everything for me and he will always have a place in my tool box. Highly recommended.
