For $13 I don't think it really gets any better than this. They are a great reference pair compared to other buds or rims. First, the tune won't be complete without foam sleeves. Without foam rubber, they do not stick to the ears, and there is practically no bass. Putting them in your ear will clean up the mids, but you'll never have headphones in your ear. This is one of the biggest downsides I've found, and I think it's only because it's not the most ergonomic design of anything in this range. I took the strap, made it smaller and put it right in front of my chest, but you can still hear a lot of the instruments. 13 dollars
