I have been using a hydrometer for many years and am tired of taking the large samples that a hydrometer requires. I have used this refractometer along with my hydrometer and the numbers come out exactly the same, even the final gravity reading. If you measure the initial density accurately, you can easily and accurately calculate the final density using a refractometer. Very well made, good price, will only use a refractometer from now on. On top of that, you get a case and droppers that others don't have!
