This is my second. The first had a soft surface completely under the whole part of the table. It has a front tube and a back tube made of small balls of foam (same material as before) and nothing in the middle. If you have huge long thighs I think you'll be fine, but this is a cheaper version of the original. Like many other things these days, it's not as good as it used to be. I would never have bought it if I could have seen it first. I was happy with the old one. EDIT: I replaced it with a new and different brand after a few months. Tubes of beads also became thinner and generally uncomfortable to use.
