Bought for my Texas spiny lizard. It is stored in a regular 10 gallon tank with a Zilla 20x10 mesh lid. To save money I bought 40 watt G9 bulbs from CBconcept (10 pieces, 500 lumens, 2700K). When I attach the dome to the screen cover, the temperature at the bottom of my tank reaches 108 degrees (11 inches from the bulb), which is too hot. Aquarium and the temperature reaches 99 degrees. At this temperature, my lizard has yet to leave the bathing area to cool off before returning. Which is probably fine since it keeps him active. I like the dome, but would like to buy 25 watt bulbs so the dome sits squarely on top of the screen instead of sticking out 3 inches above it. I will get more of these as my lizard collection grows.
