Our ladies love it! Unfortunately, due to pesky predators that we are unable to eliminate, our chickens are forced to remain in their coop and this adds to their much-needed entertainment! I put apple seeds on top, leftover veggies (broccoli sticks, cabbage and lettuce heads, etc.), and sometimes a whole head of lettuce or a whole apple if they seem cheap to me. Chickens will eat anything I put on them! The only downside for me was how short the chain is (this is easily remedied by increasing the length with an old chain I had idle). Definitely a worthwhile investment to keep our chickens happy!
