I'm not sure I want to try to draw 1/1000th of an inch with this, but if I CAN set it up that accurately, it definitely will Hold setting and create precise circles. For a long time I was looking for trampolines with which you can also cut a circle and not just draw it. The Trend M/CF501 does just that. All parts matter. The aluminum set screws firmly hold the "points" on whatever rod I choose, as well as the pivot point and pencil or knife point. The result is the ability to draw a clean circle. The blade is long enough to go through regular cardboard and strong and sharp enough to leave a clear mark on wood. One of the few tools I had turned out to be way better than I thought it would be!
