I haven't decided to use them yet. They are VERY strong and sturdy, which I feel is necessary. I had never tufted before so I experimented with my 3" density foam and material. I had to use force to pierce the needles. I don't think there is room for experimentation here because once those needles go through the material , leaves a hole so you can't change your mind.I wonder if there are thinner needles?I also bought waxed floss which is better than regular floss.
