Initial setup of the device itself wasn't too difficult, although it's unlikely Grandma will be able to link it to the phone app (it was a complicated process of setting up an account in the phone app, and then getting a frame to receive a request from the application to linking) . So if you're buying this as a gift for an elderly family member, I suggest you set it up for them in advance, including connecting to their Wi-Fi for them. Emailing framed photos was pretty easy. You can attach more than one to an email, but the more I attached, the longer it took the frame to recognize them. For example, I attached 5 photos to an email and one photo loaded and displayed first (not even the first attachment!) but it took about 20 minutes for the other 4 to display. The frame does not indicate that information is still being downloaded or received. In the end, all 5 photos appeared on the frame. The problems started when I tried to copy 353 photos from an SD card that I pulled out of my old digital picture frame. The frame didn't recognize that the SD card was loaded, so it didn't do anything. Photos are not imported. As a precaution, I tried another SD card, which was also not recognized. So the SD card reader in the picture frame itself was defective. I then tried to load the same 353 photos into the picture frame using a USB stick. For some reason only some of the photos displayed correctly, but most of them displayed on the thumbnail page as blank icons with a squiggly line indicating (I think) the frame was not reading files. The same photos show up fine on my other digital frame so I know the files are intact. I waited a very long time for the thumbnails to display correctly, thinking that maybe the software was slow to process all the information about the file, but it never happened. Another. It's a shame because the screen resolution is great, as are the colors and contrast, but something is wrong with the software loaded in this product. I am sending it back and will try another brand.
