We bought this (as they say on the forums, a box with a fan) a couple of years ago, in a one-room apartment, my pregnant wife persuaded me, I would never have bought it myself for that kind of money (at that time $ 300, THREE Hundred $, I will shudder as I remember). When we lived in a one-room apartment, my pregnant wife persuaded me to buy it. It worked almost constantly, but the readings on the hygrometer didn't change much. Many people write that the vent should work continuously for a couple of days, and that the furniture and wallpaper should absorb moisture during that time. blah blah blah, I only used it for a short period of time during the day and again at night. After using it for half a year, a knock started to sound, and I had to oil the plastic components. The so-called "box with a fan" has been doing nothing productive for the past year. To me, it seems like money that was wasted. After that, we went out and purchased a Vitek humidifier, which was the most affordable one available (it cost somewhere between $10 and $15). In addition, I will mention that in comparison to the vent, it provides 10 times the amount of moisture to the room; however, I do not typically talk about how much it costs.
