An interesting and inexpensive multifunction cooker that is touted as being suitable for preparing a range of Asian dishes. I ordered it for stew or shabu shabu but the instructions say I also use it for oatmeal (juk/rice porridge I think), stew, mixed grains (I assume it's different types of rice and grains cooked with rice acts) can use. ) and a cake (!). There is a steam cooking setting but no steam basket. Maybe you should put a bamboo steamer basket on top? I have to try this. The instructions are not very clear, but the operation is quite simple. Plug it in and press the function button to select what you want to cook, then press the +/- button to fine-tune the temperature. I think it has an auto shut off when it runs dry - which the instructions seem to say - which is what you would expect from a rice cooker. I poured a few cups of water and left it running to test basic functionality. and clean as instructed. He brought the water to a boil relatively quickly and kept it there. So far, so good. Next time I'll make a small pot of broth and see what comes out of it, but so far everything is working as promised.
