I don't have another brand to compare but it works great for me. I use it especially for poultry because it needs to be well cooked to be safe to eat. I used to overcook chicken, but using a thermometer has allowed me to cook the chicken just fine, keeping it moist and juicy while still being safely cooked. If you are looking for an inexpensive and reliable kitchen thermometer, you can't go wrong with this one.
