The front of the bird house is beginning to fall apart. This bird house needs some kind of sealant to protect the metal components. I left it outside for about two weeks and it started to rust and discolor on the hinges even though it was designed for outdoor use. It appears to be functional but I don't know how long the hinges will last, plus it's kind of ugly now. I would have ordered a completely different one if I knew it would look dirty, but now it's also outside the return window. Fur. I feel like it was a waste of money and I'm a bit disappointed.
