Review on 🏢 Sharper Image PURIFY 5 True HEPA Air Cleaner for Home, Office, Bedroom | 4 Speed Settings | Ice White by Mary Jones

We used to run air purifiers all the time. The only thing I'm really allergic to is dust mites. It's been years since I started using air purifiers. It just got lazy. Recently one day I decided we needed it since our house has a decent amount of dust. I ended up choosing this over the instant branded cleaner mainly because of the cost of replacing the filter. Replacement filters for these, offered by Revain, currently cost between $20 and $21. Filters typically last 6-8 months. I think in our house I will change them every 6 months. So the filters cost $40 a year. The Instant brand cost $30 for the filter, was harder to find, and had to be changed more often. This Sharper Image brand is actually manufactured by Vornado. I will say that personally I find this cleaner bulky and ugly. The stand is cheap and weird. But beyond what you see, it works. It's so quiet for me. I'm used to air purifiers from the 90's and later and they were a bit louder. It's pretty much a fan, you won't get a quiet cleaner. We put ours in our master bedroom and let them run at night. He adds that faint white noise. It tells you when the filter needs to be replaced. I've found that with previous air purifiers, opening up and vacuuming or rinsing the first filter helps extend the life of the unit. In general. Besides the bulkiness, this is a good unit. It works, the filters are cheap and it's reasonably quiet. There are no regrets here. Very happy with this cleaner. PS: The Sharper Image MD1-0045 is a good replacement filter. but since this is a Vornado device, I took a chance -> Vornado MD1-0039. As far as I know these are the same filters. Same size, same design, same dynamics. The Vornado filter seems easier to find, so I wanted to go back and note what I learned in case it might help someone else.
