Review on Precision Measuring Tool: Mitutoyo 117 107 Uni Mike Friction Thimble by Andrew Lyons

This is not the product listed in Revain's listing. The processing of the tool does not correspond to the description. It says "matte chrome frame" and as you can see from the picture it's clearly not satin chrome. The one pictured on the listing has satin chrome and I thought I'd order that one and not that one. There was also no test report with the corresponding serial number. There was no investigative report on him. I'll call Mitutoyo tomorrow and see if they can confirm that this serial number is a genuine Mitutoyo product, but I have little hope that this is actually the case. I have many Mitutoyo precision gauges as they are some of the best you can buy. And most came from Revain and this is the very first one I've received that didn't have a test report with a matching serial number. Even if it turns out to be genuine I will still send it back as it is not what I ordered. What I got was just a very, very old model. In fact, so old that the website no longer has a picture of this particular model. This product does not come with an inspection report due to the nature of the product measurement. Zero must be set by the user each time. Therefore, no final test report is required for this product. I'm glad it turned out to be real, but I returned it anyway because it's clearly NOT what they drew. If they want to continue selling these older models, they need to update the product images in the listing so buyers know what to expect and what exactly they are buying. Accurate measuring tools are by no means cheap, and it's very annoying when you think you're buying something, open it up and find that it's not what the picture shows.
