I have a sensitive/responsive small setter, so this may not apply to thick behavioural problematic dogs. Specifically, the 'ring' noise does not instantaneously respond to a push of the button, so it is necessary to hold the button too long, and consequently, the dog gets too long a sound ring, not a quick ping-like sound, which is all that is needed.Only used vibrate once, and that was too long a hold as well.No use on shock, and I wouldn't trust this unit to provide a minimal one. The way this unit is working, if your dog really needs a shock, it will get a really good one from this unit.
