The colors and pattern are perfect. Not too light where you can't see the apple and not too light where you can't see the pattern. The coating is smooth and hard enough to protect. I've been using this product for about 3 months now and the only thing I've noticed is that some of the letters on the keyboard have disappeared from use. There are also signs of detachment in the lower corners of the upper, but they're very small and not visible unless you're looking for them.
