Review on ๐Ÿš€ Unleash Virtual Reality with HTC VIVE Cosmos by Agata Pkala (Kira) แ Œ

The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

If a high resolution picture is not important, I would advise you to pay $ 400 for an oculus and not worry. If you want the best experience, then it is better to overpay, perhaps, and take cosmos elite or valve index. Vive Cosmos is for those who: want a good picture for less than $1000 and don't want to shoot with a sniper rifle or play Beat Saber on Hard or higher.

Pros
  • Higher image resolution compared to Oculus and base Vive No need for external tracking stations Pretty comfortable helmet, not too heavy and not too stuffy, which is important when playing for a long time If desired, you can add external tracking (although this is too expensive to make sense) or make the helmet wireless Battery operated controllers - you can buy rechargeable batteries + charger. If it is discharged prematurely, you can insert spare batteries or batteries. It takes about 5-6 hours to charge the GP 2700.
Cons
  • The area in which the image remains clear is small. If you slightly move the helmet on your head in height, the picture may blur. The picture always blurs around the edges. The recess for the nose is huge and not closed from the eyes, with a helmet on, you can see the room below. At the same time, since the helmet does not work in the dark, you can see the room perfectly. Controller tracking was initially terrible and in the year that I have been using the helmet, it has been improved, but not fixed (even with the inclusion of beta versions). It is inconvenient to use firearms with two hands, in Beat Saber the controllers sometimes lag and this really gets in the way. Until now, when controllers approach the helmet, they can hang for a while near it. Here, HTC should be ashamed that with more cameras and more visible controllers, they could not match the quality of the oculus. Part of the helmet/controller tracking problem can be solved by adding detail to your environment - putting markers on the walls, for example, and making the controllers stand out well from the background. By investing money (for a helmet plate, external stations and old controllers), you can switch this helmet to external tracking mode, but the total price will double then, it's pointless. Some good games are, unfortunately, Oculus exclusives.
