Laptop: The Lenovo Z70Mine came with an annoying hybrid HDD/SSD, so I switched to a full SSD. I really wanted to have secondary storage so I could get work done on it without slowing down my SSD, so this case was a great way to install the original HDD/SSD. It supports Sata3 but I think the baud rate depends on the motherboard port. Not this case. However, I didn't notice any difference in read/write speeds since it's connected to a SATA3 port, so I can safely say that the case won't slow down your speeds. I took out my optical drive (CD/DVD), put the hard drive in the case and connected it with no problem. The optical drive bezel that I removed also snapped onto the hard drive cage. I will say that I hear a very faint whine coming from the hard drive, which I don't think the drive had before, so I'm not sure what exactly is causing it. I tightened the screws well, the case wasn't loose, and I took very good care of the HDD/SSD when I removed it, but that doesn't bother me much as I don't see any performance issues.
