Review on Reliable Hardware Company RH 9005 SET Diameter by Chris Spoja

I can see that this caster set (Reliable Hardware Company RH-9005-SET-A Swivel Top Caster Plate, Wheel Diameter 2" Zinc, Set of 4) has received fairly high marks in customer reviews. My experience was less than favorable: I bought the set because: 1. Revain describes it as "100lb load capacity per wheel" and 2. the set was very cheap. The set arrived quickly, the casters seemed well made and I mounted them on a base I built for a table saw that weighs no more than 150 pounds. Immediately I noticed that the wheels had a GREAT ROLLING RESISTANCE (on a smooth concrete floor) and sure enough, after a couple of hours the soft wheels went flat. lumpy rolling! (I should mention that this happened in my 75 degree basement, so heat softening isn't an issue.) I think these casters are great for much lighter loads (medium-hard rubber wheels make for a smooth, quiet ride) . but clearly couldn't handle 400lbs in one set! I went to the local big box, bought another set of cheap skates with harder wheels and all is good.
