ONLY ONE complaint!

I bought this shredder to replace a 10 year old heavy duty stapler in my home office. I chose Fellows based on the reviews found here and elsewhere on the internet. This Fellows shredder is as advertised! Very important. super quiet. Effective. Secure; so sure I'm no longer afraid my tie will snag and drag me to my doom. ツNow to that ONE two-sentence complaint. It is arranged around a plastic garbage can bag.[1] save your money Do not buy bags from Fellows. Judging by the sample bags that come with them, the bags appear to be a little more durable than most plastic bags, but at 21 cents a bag, there's a cheap alternative. For example, we use ProForce Commercial 7-10 gallons. Garbage bags (1000 carats) that cost less than 3 cents per bag. That's a saving of 18 cents per bag![2] So that a plastic bag doesn't break in the bin. I tried the Fellows sample bags that came with the unit, but the bags inevitably ended up in the trash and were covered in torn paper; made a bit of a mess when it came time to take the bag off. And because the height of the Fellow bags is greater than the depth of the container, product waste stays inside. However, if you use a medium clip (e.g. ACCO Binder Clips, Medium, 12/case (72050)) and position it so that it holds the bag along the top edge of the bin, about 1½ inches from each end (see also see my photos), the bag stays raised, the shredded paper stays in the bag and removing the bag is clean and easy, no lint! Clips to the pocket along the top edge of the basket, ensuring each bracket is angled inward to clear the sides of the shredder when the basket is pushed back. If you forget, you will be reminded if the basket is not fully inserted and the door open status indicator on top of the shredder will glow red. Have fun grinding!
