I built myself a NAS from older parts that were laying around. I used a Cat5 cable to connect it to my router.and could only get 10-11 Mbs per second of transfer. that translates to HOURS when moving large files such as movies and music. I checked everything and decided to try the obvious first. I ordered this Cat7 cable. When it arrive I replaced the Cat5 with this cable.and WOW! From 10-11 Mbs, to 115-120 Mbs! THAT IS 10+ TIMES THE TRANSFER SPEED.JUST BY UPGRADING A CABLE FROM CAT5 TO CAT7! Most of my house is wired with Cat6e ethernet, but I'm making plans to upgrade my entire home network with Cat7 cable.
