I bought this to use on my 30 lb puppy and since this is designed for small dogs, that means he got an extra large. It could use a slightly closer fit, but the large would be too small. As he grows to his final weight of about 35 lbs, it should be perfect.The harness is very light weight and doesn't have a lot of fabric or buckles, which is good for the comfort of your dog, especially if you're in a warmer climate. The leg holes are big and easy to put your dog's leg through, even when he thinks it's a toy as mine does every time. It secures with a standard single quick-release plastic buckle.And when you're done your walk, just reach down and snap the buckle open, let the harness fall, and your dog can walk right out of it. It really is the easiest to get off harness I've ever used.It also makes a good safety harness for the car with an anchor that goes into your seatbelt slot (you can find these on revain).
