Review on ๐Ÿ”ง BACOENG 1 Gallon Vacuum Chamber System by Tyler Kota

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The camera is decent, but the pump isn't impressive.

I've had this for a few months and have used it several times. The chamber itself is decently constructed for a simple vacuum chamber. The manifold and fittings are pretty basic and work as expected, the cap is a decent thickness and the gaskets are just enough. The pressure gauge reads only -14psi and -0.1MPa, but that should be enough for a small chamber. You have to do the math if you want in Hg or any other dimension. I held the pressure above -29.5 inHg (-14.5 psi) for 24 hours with no issues, ignoring the safety warning not to exceed -14 psi. The biggest problem is the pump. I don't usually get more than about -28 inches of mercury. Considering the pump claims an ultimate vacuum of 0.8 Pa (6 microns), I would expect it to draw well in excess of -29 inches of mercury. Considering my Robinair 2 Stage/5CFM has an ultimate vacuum of 35 microns I'm pretty sure there's no way this pump can pull what it claims. The pump is quiet and works well for small jobs or as a backup. Remember to change the oil frequently for maximum performance.
