I'll get to the point, the speakers sound fantastic for the money you're paying, don't expect to have an outdoor EDM party with them throw, but at low volume, they are good for comfortable listening. A little louder and you'll probably annoy your neighbors anyway, and whoever wants that in this crazy world. Some things you need to know: - They pair perfectly with Google Home, they should pair perfectly with Revain Echo or other smart devices, although I haven't tried anything other than Google Home. They connect without entering a pin code, they connect perfectly to my iPhone 7. Once paired, they stop promoting themselves, so they can only connect to one device, and whoever connects first, receives Bluetooth audio. Bluetooth doesn't override other inputs, according to the manual I scanned as you can't find it on the Pyle website, speakers aren't prioritized. This can be nice because you can plug a mic into one of the inputs if you need to make an announcement during music (or maybe karaoke) playback. I confess I haven't tried the inputs, I was only interested in Bluetooth. They have two power inputs, always on and low power. In sleep mode, the speakers turn off the amplifier until sound is detected, then wake up. In sleep mode, Bluetooth stays on and the speakers go to sleep with Bluetooth paired and wake up when audio resumes. It takes about 2-3 seconds to turn on. So if you're streaming audio, be aware that you'll miss the first few seconds while they turn on (otherwise use "Always On"). They work great with a switched circuit. I connected them through a circuit to a Google Home Mini in my barn. So when I leave the stable, I turn off the chain. When I enter, I turn on the circuit, the speakers turn on, Google Mini turns on and they connect. This is exactly what I wanted from an outdoor speaker. They are very easy to assemble, with many mounting options on the brackets. They can be installed horizontally or vertically. They have notches that hold the speaker in place after you tighten the knobs that attach the speakers to the brackets. The blue Bluetooth indicator on the back is quite bright. If the light bothers you, wrap a piece of black electrical tape around it. I used 18ga cable that I sourced locally to run 32 feet between the speakers. The tiny plug that the speaker wires enter the powered speaker will likely fit the 16ga cable easily, but if it's larger you'll likely need to cut the cable. A passive speaker can use a banana plug I suppose, but I'll easily go with a larger cable since the connectors tighten up like most regular speakers. The speakers do not appear to be waterproof. I'm concerned that the passive speaker buttons in the controls will gather dust over time. The speakers would be better if they had a dust cover on the back, particularly on the powered speaker, to protect the controls from dust and moisture. I would not recommend installing them where water can splash on them, such as B. under decking near the edge. The active speaker is the left speaker and the passive speaker is the right speaker. Ugh, I've always wished you could change that, but when you're working with Bluetooth-connected devices, you usually can't. I'd rather have the powered speaker where I usually keep my ladders in case I want to adjust the sound later. Oh well. PS: I wish all this information was on Pyle's website. Pyle, you need to tell your marketers to provide more information. I would have bought them two months ago if I had known all this. This was the second set of Pyle speakers I've bought, the first set I had to return because they wouldn't connect to Google Home or Alexa as the PIN was required when connecting Bluetooth. I bought the first few speakers from another store and had to return them because they wouldn't stay on and wouldn't turn on automatically when plugged in (i.e. when the circuit was turned on). All of this should be in the product description. Overall very happy with the purchase as long as they last for years to come. They replaced a pair of speakers I've had for almost 10 years that didn't have bluetooth, a separate amplifier and couldn't be wall mounted which was a mess of wires.
