I bought this adapter to replace a much inferior and shorter standard adapter from my One+ 6T. The sound is much better and I believe it will last much longer with a braid covering the wire. It has a very secure fit at both ends and sounds great with no distortion or loss of sound quality. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a built in 3.5 audio jack on their phone and needs an adapter. This is an update to my review. I've found that when I use the adapter with the headphones with a mic, they don't work for answering calls! For most this is a big deal
