I Wasted Alot of Time Until I Figured Out the Cable Was Bad -- Test Yours First or Buy Another Brand

I had planned on burying this cable for an Ethernet line between a house and a garage. Before I did that, I had a temporary need for an outdoor cable dropped out of an attic window straight down and into a basement window. So I dropped this cable out the window first, and I'm glad I did. When I didn't get any signal at all, I was perplexed because I was sure I had wired everything correctly. So I bought an Ethernet cable tester and the cable failed pins 1 and 8. The only thing I did was unravel the cable and drop it straight down to the ground from the third floor of a house. I am sure I didn't damage the cable in any way. It was clearly bad when it was shipped, meaning nobody tested it before they sent it to me.I was foolish for not testing it ahead of time because I wasted a lot of time until I figured out it was a bad cable. I'm glad I didn't bury it first and then discover it was bad! If you buy this brand, make sure you test it when it arrives.I returned mine and bought theAurum Cables Outdoor Waterproof CAT6 - CCA - Direct Burial Ethernet Network Cable - 550 Mhz (150 Feet) cable instead, and I've had no problems with it at all.
