Review on Shark AZ1002 Self Cleaning Brushroll Upholstery by Jason Adams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Has some nice features

The Shark APEX handheld vacuum is a good vacuum with some features that I really like. Upon arrival, set up was very easy. Instructions were included but they assembled in 5 minutes and no instructions were required. We've had a Dyson pet for over 10 years but this is the first Shark vacuum we've tried so I can try to compare the two. The biggest difference that I had to get used to is the hinge. When I first used it, I felt like it worked like a self-propelled mower because it seemed like it wanted to work. Moving forward was easy, pulling back took little effort (but no more than Dyson or other vacuums). The suction worked well. It has 3 settings: thick carpet, thin and wooden floor and you move the switch on the handle and the setting lights up. The hardwood furniture is beautiful. I have rugs and treadmills scattered around my kitchen and I feel the Dyson does a better job with them, but both work well on rugs and larger rugs. The best feature I find is the removable container. This makes cleaning stairs 10x easier and this feature is rated higher for this vacuum compared to Dyson. Of course, you can buy a smaller vacuum cleaner or handle separately, but it's nice to have that feature. The HEPA filter is good and I look forward to seeing how well the stubble heads and comb work as we will be using it for picking up hair and pet hair. The vacuum cleaner has space for 2/4 of the included attachments. It really makes no sense why that is. Either put all the accessories inside or include a bag to tuck them all away for storage. It looks like we have 2 random pieces lying on a shelf in the closet and we're hoping they don't get lost. As for the hiss: This one says it has "Noise Reduction Technology: Professionally tuned to reduce noise and soften pitch." It's not quiet. It's not insanely loud, but I don't think it's quieter than the Dyson. I have about the same. The cable is thick and very long. measures in order. 360 inches / 30 feet. All in all I think this is a good vacuum cleaner. The biggest problem for me is getting used to the rotating device. I believe this will be easier for those who have used rotary vacuums before. May I recommend? Yes. a good gift?Yes, I hope you found this review helpful.
