I am brand new to Gel. I have never done gel in the salon before. I discovered powder nails a few months ago and LOVED them, but felt like I wanted something more "natural" and less acrylic-like. Also, the fake nails made my nails thicker and I wanted to try something a little bit more like regular nail polish. They are new to diving, I knew I wanted to go with them. I looked for many color combinations but settled on this one. The starter kit is great - it has more than what I need so it's great. The light turns on/off automatically when you put your hand in it (I didn't know when I ordered it, but it's what I wanted). The instructions were clear enough that I didn't have to look up how to make the gels anymore. I just wasn't sure if you would glue all your nails under the light at once or if you would have to do it finger by finger (you can do both). All great, but I think my only "problem" is that the burn time is 30/60/120 seconds. The instructions say to leave it on for 60-90 seconds, so I wish there was a 90 second button instead of 30. I never see myself doing 30 unless it's supposed to make 90. So far I've only used one color. , but I chose the second darkest because it was hard to tell from the picture what color it was - not as dark as black. turns out to be dark red, like bull's blood. It was one of the colors I wanted so it's great. Two coats of color gave me the depth of color I wanted and 1-2 nails needed a third coat. So far, so good! I love this set.
