Time Warner replaced this modem with an updated DOCSIS 3.0 modem that had everything I didn't need. They also no longer have this RCA model on their list of compatible modems to buy yourself. I bought it used for less than $20 and still get the same speeds as a much more expensive model. Speedtest.net gave me a 20/2 (exactly the rate I pay with my TWC service) with this modem. With DOCSIS you only pay for what you need. Until you start buying 100/50 cable service or something, all you really need is a basic modem. The old DOCSIS 2.0 modem supports 43/31 Mbps. It's still ridiculously fast. Even 1.0 delivers 43/10 Mbit/s. It's still ridiculously fast! So unless you host serious servers from home and get 1 million downloads a day, consider this little guy with under $20 shipping. It will protect you for years to come. Mine has been refurbished but works the same as the one that replaced the TWC. This is the goalkeeper. Even if it breaks and I have to replace it every year, it still costs $20 a year. Also, it is very compact and can be hidden anywhere. energy efficient. You probably have your own WiFi router anyway, so you don't need a routable modem.
