update: the screeching is louder and just plain awful. So much so that I stopped mixing and went back to the original. Original: I finally ordered one of these scraper blades for my blender. I like that it scratches everything from the side and bottom, but it's louder (annoying squeaks). It's not unbearable, but very annoying. If you use it a lot, it may bother you more. I weighed my options and decided to keep it because it fits perfectly in the bottom of a stainless steel bowl.
