YUP! Exactly what I needed.

So I recently installed a new water filtration system that is supposed to be powered by electricity. Unaware that the outlet shared with the garbage chute is either disconnected from the power switch or fully disconnected when the switch is off. This caused some problems which resulted in me shutting down my garbage chute for a full week as it fed my water filter until I could find a solution. For fear that the electricity will ever go out, and any other device which I felt would only cause the slide to turn on, I needed something with a switch that I could easily control. That's it. The ideal solution. All I have to do now is just open my closet and flip the switch, and my garbage chute will go up and down when it's done. Hooray. Happy tourist. Good descent length too
