My Lilith has cat herpes which is making her eyes watery and irritated. She had many eye problems because of this virus. Because of this she had several sequestrations and finally we had to give her a cornea transplant because the sequestrations had destroyed her cornea so badly. Yes, we love them! :ENYour eyes are constantly irritated. Antibiotics and ointments help for a while, but everything returns 2 weeks after they stopped. You can't keep them on antibiotics all the time. It's just an annoying virus! I used Viralys Gel before. And although she accepted it, after a while she got tired of it, and it was uncomfortable following her twice a day to give it to her. But lysine really helps. This didn't completely fix the problem, but it's the best I've tried so far. And it really soothes her itchy, watery eyes! The problem was that she only ate dry food, so it was impossible to mix the gel with it. So I spray the kibble with a bottle of water (just a light soak will do) and spray. Then I stir it in her bowl so it evenly sticks to the kibble. I feed her once a day with enough dry food for the day (she nibbles and eats a little during the day). I cover the meal with 2 spoons of it. First I crushed it with a mortal pestle because I was afraid she would lick it off. But I'll stop now as I think she's used to it. We have 2 other cats that only eat wet food. So she has access to other foods, but she still prefers kibble sprinkled with it. It worked great! She accepts it and I don't have to run after her and talk her into taking the medicine anymore. And it's MUCH more economical than gel! I will definitely buy her more. If your cat accepts this, the powder is what you need! :)
